Safely (and easily) embed myEMP within Microsoft Outlook

A few easy steps, permit you to embed the myEMP end-user interface directly into Outlook, for a more integrated work experience

Folders within Outlook can have their home page set, which allows any web application to be run within the Outlook folder, including myEMP.

Simply set the homepage for your existing mailbox folder: ie. Mailbox - Your Name, or create a new folder, naming it something like: myEMP

Here's the steps to create a folder that holds the myEMP interface:

  1. Open Outlook
  2. Create a new folder called: myEMP
  3. Right-click on the new folder
  4. Choose Properties and then Home Page
  5. Enter your path to myEMP: ie: http://YourServerOrIP:9090/emp/faces/main.jsp
  6. Click on OK
  7. Voila!

Now when you choose this folder, myEMP runs within Outlook

NOTE: To avoid the appearance of scroll bars, the minimum screen resolution for embedded use, is 1280 x 1024.

Integrated, but protected

You and your users can feel confident when running embedded myEMP, that quarantined email is safely isolated from Outlook, by the myEMP protective shell. There is no danger of contamination by viruses and other malicious exploits that may exist within the quarantined email.

Unlike many less sophisticated spam filters, which utilize Outlook to display quarantined messages, myEMP is visually contained only, providing full myEMP functionality for the user within a safe, but integrated email processing environment.

Extensible Messaging Platform ( EMP 6 ), will stop Exchange spam, phishing attacks and email borne viruses before they reach Exchange Server or the organization's employees and customers.
